Health & Illness Policy
When to Keep Your Child Home
To maintain a healthy environment for all children, please keep your child home if they have:
Medication Administration
Staff may administer prescription or over-the-counter medication with written parental consent and physician authorization, using properly labeled original containers, and all administration is documented and tracked.
Allergy Management
We create individualized allergy action plans for children with known allergies, and staff are trained to recognize and respond to reactions. Emergency medications, including EpiPens, are stored securely and accessible, and all classroom staff are aware of each child’s allergies.
To maintain a healthy environment for all children, please keep your child home if they have:
- Fever of 100.4°F or higher (must be fever-free for 24 hours without medication before returning)
- Vomiting or diarrhea (must be symptom-free for 24 hours before returning)
- Contagious rash or skin infection
- Pink eye or other eye infection
- Head lice (may return after first treatment)
- Flu-like symptoms
- Any illness that prevents them from participating comfortably in activities
